Makerspace Nerdy Derby Physical Science Project

Nerdy Derby Project

Students in the 9th Grade Center will design, print, and race their own Nerdyderby car in December. Several physical science, math, engineering standards, and use of artistic creativity will be used throughout the whole Makerspace lesson. Students will use all of the following materials and software to complete the project:

  • Desktop, Laptop, or Chromebook

  • Tinkercad.com (Free 3D Modeling Project)

  • Calipers

  • Hammer

  • Box of 7/8" galvanized roofing nails

  • Box of 1/8 in x 1 in fender washers

  • Pliers ($1)

  • Flashforge Creator Pro 3D Printer

  • Innland 3D PLA Filiment

  • Nerdy Derby track (built my our CTAE 9th grade students)
