Scientific Research Focus
Location: Georgia Tech Research Institute 260 14th Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA
When: June 15-17, 2015
Cost: Free
Focus: The focus of this K-12 academy will be for schools that do NOT have a research program in their school or the program they have is young and they would like to strengthen the program. The three-day workshop includes tours of Ga Tech labs and instruction from classroom leaders who have implemented strong research components into their STEM programs. Learn a step-by-step approach that will arm you with the tools you need to implement a scientific research program in your school. See below for PBL Academy.

Project/Problem-Based Learning Focus
Location: Young Harris College-Rollins Campus Center
When: July 6-8, 2015
Cost: Free
Focus: The focus of this K-12 academy will be the effective implementation of Problem/Project-Based Learning. Instructors are John Schafer and Mimi Dyer from Classroom Unsquared on Problem-Based Learning and Dr. Robert Mayes from Georgia Southern University on Place-Based Project Based Learning. Effective technology use for projects will also be addressed.
